What is a realistic price?

If you see a sign saying SALE PRICE IS FIRM AND NON NEGOTIABLE or SPECIAL, DRIVE AWAY NO MORE TO PAY, there possibly isn’t much room to play with on the price.

With new cars, always get details on the on-road costs which can be $2000 to $3000. There is always room to move, maybe not on price but with possible added extras etc, but after all the negotiating if they wont come to the party in throwing in a set of mats you know you have pushed it to their limit and got a good deal.

If you are not confident about negotiating when dealing with car yards or dealerships it’s always handy to take along someone who is, especially if they are not emotionally attached to the purchase.
